The AALL Research and Publications Committee invites you to attend the inaugural AALL Distinguished Lecture. Dr. Jolande E. Goldberg is the very first winner of this award. She will present her lecture “De arte et de jurisprudentia: Some Aspects of Legal Iconography” on Monday at 2:15 in 201-B of the Convention Center.
Dr. Goldberg was born in Germany, and received her legal education and training there. In 1967, she joined the Library of Congress, and is currently the Library’s Senior Law Classification Specialist. She “developed the major part of the Library of Congress Law Classification as an overall comparative and uniform, classification system as it relates to all regions of the world, as well as to universal systems such as international, Indigenous, and religious law.”
Dr. Goldberg was a charter member in 1972 of the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia and has been a resident artist since then. She specializes in garden sculpture and water features.
Please join us in starting this new tradition at the annual meeting.
